Day three of our trip we had an early morning start on our 3 hour drive to the Hamilton Temple.
It took us much longer than we had expected but was well worth it. Aaron went into the temple with his mum and dad while the rest of us ate our packed lunches and explored the beautiful grounds.
Such a peaceful and fun place to be. The grounds are magnificent and so perfectly landscaped. The flowers and colors were so vibrant, even with the cloudy skies.
From Hamilton we began our 4 hour journey up to Whangaumu Bay where we would be staying for the next couple of nights.
Some friends back home told us to stop off in Pokeno for 'massive' ice cream. They were not joking, the cones and scoops were HUGE. Check out the picture below by josh, 12 scoops on a cone!
After passing through Auckland we stopped for a bite to eat knowing everything would be closed in a couple hours. We found a nice Indian place and the poor ladies must have felt overwhelmed with our young crowd. They had us in and out very quickly :)
Most of our day was spent driving but we had some lovely chats and gorgeous views. Just check out the sunset views from below, all taken from the window of our moving car.
We arrived to our accommodation after dark and felt like we were in the middle of no where. Loads of winding hills and roads that found us to our cabin in complete darkness.
When we got into the house we discovered marker all over Josh and Rachael's faces, they got THAT bored on the car drive. They thought it was hilarious until Rachael couldn't' get it off her face. No worries though, baby wipes are always a lifesaver.
Aaron took a walk around the cabin deck outside and came inside with a massive creepy spider on his back. I nearly had a heart attack but dad came to the rescue and saved Aaron outside by flicking it off him. Whew, glad that was out of the way.

Such fun memories and Dad is laughing as I read about the spider, he said Aaron was so funny, yes we can laugh about it now!
