Sunday morning we packed everything into the car and headed out. We decided to extend our journey and go through Monticello to see the Temple.
We took the turnoff to Blanding which took us through some beautiful sites, including Hite. At one point I got out of the car at a lookout spot to take pictures and realized the significant cliff I was standing on, no protective barriers at all.
The kids enjoyed spotting the lake and counting the bridges we would go over.
Going over some of the bridges was a little nerve wracking. The Colorado River was one of them, it was quite the drop off.
After going through the small town of Blanding we made our way into Monticello. We didn't spend too long at the temple as the winds were picking up and a storm rolling in. But we enjoyed the beauty and adding another temple to our list of visited with the kids.
The rest of the way home was a nice relaxing drive with a few other neat things to see. Including a heart shaped window in the clouds.
A couple crazy storms rolled over us on our journey home and we were lucky enough to avoid some accidents and flooding in Spanish Fork Canyon.
It was the perfect trip!
